Letter of the week: Review

Learning Targets: 

Reading: 

I can read, write and find all letters of the alphabet. 

I can read our sight words: a, as, the, to, I, little, the, my, we, like, have, he, for, she, me, with, see, look, you, they, of, are, that, do, one, two, three, four, five, from, here, go, blue, green, yellow, what, said, was, where, come 

THIS WEEKS NEW SIGHT WORDS:

where, come

Writing: 

I can write whole sentences correctly using a capital at the beginning and period at the end. 

I can use my lines to properly form letters. 

I can phonetically spell words. 

Math: 

I can SUBTRACT quantities with numbers under 10.  

I can write, find, identify, and count my teen numbers!

I can identify 3-D shapes. 

I can use spatial language when describing where objects are. 

I can say or write numbers that are greater or less than a given quantity. 

I can count to 100 and identify numbers 1-20. I can also count to 100 by 10s.  

I can describe quantities with words such as: big, small, tall, short, more, less. 


Science: 



Other things we are working on: 

Being able to recall characters and events in a story

Compare / Contrast

Making predictions on what will happen next

Syllables 

Ask your child what the signal and sound is for each letter

- Practicing how to cut, glue, draw, and use paint 

- 2-D shapes

We will also be doing weekly May Art projects! Don't be worried if you don't see them coming home. They will be in the end of the year portfolios :)

How to help at home:

 - Read with your child every night
 
- Count with your child

- Ask them to write their first and last name on items

- Do crafts that involve coloring,painting, cutting,and or pasting

- Help them identify letters and numbers. Use letter flash cards at home to help improve their test scores 

- Quiz them on their sight words, shapes, letters, and sounds!
