Week of December 10--14

** The Kindergarten Winter Concert will be December 11th at 1:15 pm in the Gymnasium **

**We will have our polar Express Party on December 21 from 8 am - 9:55 am**



Letter of the week: 

Hh, Ll, Kk

Learning Targets: 

Reading: 

I will know all letters learned so far and our new letters Hh, Ll, Kk.  
I can show this by being able to sound out, write, and find these letters.

I will show understanding of our group reading text. 
I can show this by being engaged and participating in discussions, being able to give details about the characters and setting and showing a relationship between text and illustrations.  

I will know my sight words: I, am, the, little, a, to
I can show this by being able to read, write, and find all sight words. 

Writing: 

I will write my letters in proper form. 
 I can show this by going to the proper lines (sky, plane, grass and worm). 
Math: 
I will know my numbers 1-20 
I can show this by being able to write, find and count to 20. 

I can count to 50. 

Science: 



Other things we are working on: 
- sequence 
- rhyming
-syllables
-letters / sounds
- reading 


We will also be doing weekly November Art projects! Don't be worried if you don't see them coming home. They will be in the end of the year portfolios :)

How to help at home:

 - Read with your child every night
 
- Count with your child

- Ask them to write their first and last name on items

- Do crafts that involve coloring,painting, cutting,and or pasting

- Help them identify letters and numbers. Use letter flash cards at home to help improve their test scores 

- Quiz them on their sight words, shapes, letters, and sounds!
