April 10th -14th 2017

I hope you all had an amazing spring break!! Our kiddos were full of stories and excitement to tell us about their adventures, be back, and now for the Easter Bunny!! We did some experiments this week with Peeps, everyone seemed to really enjoy these experiments so we will defiantly be doing some more experiments in the next couple months.

In June we will be having our field trip!! Students have to have an ASB card to participate.  They cost $5.00 and can be purchased in the office.  ASB cards help us pay for the field trip.  We will need some parent volunteers to help supervise, if you would like to please let me know a.s.a.p., I will be drawing names out of a hat of those who want to.  You must have a cleared background check complete in order to volunteer.

-Upcoming Events-

April 17th & 18th (Monday & Tuesday) Kindergarten Registration

-What we’ve been learning-

We had to really refocus on our classroom expectations both in the classroom, cafeteria, and hallways this week.  For some reason many of our kiddos thought the rules had changed during the break.  We seem to be back on track now and refocused on doing great things!

Letters:  Ee

Words: here, go, from

Writing: We are going to start extending our writing from 1-2 sentences to 2-3.  We will be focusing on this for the next several weeks as this is a big transition and reviews other skills (upper case first letters, ending marks, sounding words out, etc.) while practicing the new skill of extending our thoughts and words.

Math:  Simple subtraction

-What we will be working on-

Since we were so focused last week about refocusing on school this week we will be talking about being safe.  What it looks like in the classroom, cafeteria, hallways, & playground. This is a school wide expectation for the month of April.
