Dear Parents/Guardians:

Hello and welcome to our weekly updates!! My reason for doing weekly updates is to keep parents informed about what we’ve been doing, what we are going to do, and things going on at our school.  It’s my belief that our kiddos learn better with both of us working together as a team!!!

I do apologize for the quick turn around on the field trip permission forms. Most extra things are planned weeks if not months in advance but we didn’t want to miss out on this opportunity like we did last year with the rain.  Because this field trip was planned so quickly and so soon, the background checks were not processed in time so we’ve got PTO volunteers coming along with us.  Again I apologize but am really excited for us to get to do this, this year.  

-Communication-

Our website is up and already getting updates!!

You can always email me at afulton@crschools.org with any question, concern, compliments you may have.  You can also leave a voicemail for me at the school 501-2910 and I will get back to you as soon as possible.  There will also always be a little slip in your child’s Friday folder to sign and send back with an area to write me notes. 

Friday folders! I will send these home every week (as long as they made their way back).  They have your child’s work from the week, any flyers from the school or local groups, my newsletter, book orders, etc.  Please go through these things with your children and send the folders back. 

Please make sure to call the school and/or send a note with your child if the plans for the day have changed! I am going off what we discussed at our meeting before school starts and cannot take a kindergartens word on where they want to go after school. 

-Behavior-

If your child ends the day at “Parent Contact” on our clip chart I will be making contact in person if he/she is a walker/car rider or a phone call if he/she is a busser.  If you are not hearing from me…that’s good!! I do encourage you to ask your child where his/her clip was at the end of the day and why it was there.  The Rocket Reboot Center is officially up and running, this is a room where students are sent when they are refusing to cooperate in class.  In room 202 we use our clip system first and the reboot center second, with that being said, if a child is acting out or disrupting the entire class, they will be sent down to the Rocket Reboot Center to talk about what they are doing and why it’s not ok.  Once they have calmed down and reviewed the rules, they will come back to class. 

-Supplies-

If you have not sent in your child’s supplies, please do so a.s.a.p.  We do have our computers and will start using them so it’s important each student has their own headphones/buds as well as our water colors.

Walking Field Trip to The Vault: Tuesday. September 26th 2017

First book order of the school year due: Friday, September 29th 2017

Book Fair: October 2nd -6th 2017 (before school, after school, and during lunch)

Family Night: October 5th 2017 from 6-8pm in the portable behind the gym. 

Rocking Rockets Assembly: Thursday, October 5th 2017 from 10:20-10:50 *If your student is getting an award I will send you a special invite*
