Week 23 Update

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Thank you so much for all the donations for our Valentine’s Day Celebration.  None of these celebrations would ever go off as great without your help!!

-Upcoming Events-

February 20th (Monday): No School

February 23rd (Thursday): 100th Day of Kindergarten *There are a few things coming home today for this.  I would really like the What 100 Looks Like back on Monday so we can hang it in our room and have time to check it out.  The tee-shirt idea is just for fun, please don’t feel like you have to do it. *

March 15th (Wednesday): Extreme Team Assembly 1:15-2:30

Spring Conferences: *Conference times will need to be signed up for via Skyward, please contact the office if you don’t have your log information.  We will be getting out at noon during parent-teacher conferences.

March 28th (Tuesday), March 29th (Wednesday), & March 30th (Thursday)

March 31st (Friday): Early Release for Spring Break, 12pm dismissal

-What we’ve been learning-

How to be scientist.  It took a lot of effort but we were able to figure out how to observe quietly and how to be patient while making our observations.

Letters: Ff

Words: they, you, of

Writing: Letter formation- tall letters go from hat line to foot line and small letters go from mid-line to foot line.

Math: Simple addition

-What we will be working on-

Letters: Oo

Words: they, you, of

Writing:  We’re still working on our letter formation.  Most the class has their letters shaped the correct way now is the tricky part of making them fit on the lines.  We’ve got a lot of too big or too small letters that they aren’t written as they are supposed to be.

Math: Simple Addition

-Things to work on at home-

Letter sounds

Counting to 100-By 1s, 5s, & 10s.

Our sight Words (knowing them instantly and writing them), we’ll be up to 21 this coming up week

Getting their jackets/gloves/hats on themselves (and hopefully not taking an extra 10 minutes)…we’re almost there!!  Seriously we are so close!!!
