September Update

September Update

posted Sep 25, 2017, 12:33 PM by David Starkey

It's hard to believe that September is coming to an end. First and foremost, thank you for all you help and support with our new transitions such as our after school pick up procedure, bus loading, and the split of our building from a K-5 school to a K-2 and 3-5 school.

I am happy to report that I have been in each classroom multiple times. Your children are in great hands. We are blessed to have such a wonderful staff here at Castle Rock Intermediate School.

As the year continues, I stress the importance of attendance. Please ensure your child attends school every day and arrives on time.

Here are a few attendance tips to help your child succeed in school…

  • Make sure your children keep a regular bedtime and establish a morning routine.
  • Lay out clothes and pack backpacks the night before.
  • Ensure your children go to school every day unless they are truly sick
  • Avoid scheduling vacations or doctor’s appointments when school is in session.
  • Talk to teachers and counselors for advice if your children feel anxious about going to school.
  • Develop back up plans for getting to school if something comes up.  Call on a family member, neighbor, or another parent to take your child to school.

As always, we are here to help. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Castle Rock Intermediate at 360-501-2910.
