Community Service Opportunities


As part of Castle Rock School District's objective of
 "Inspiring pride and achievement for all through relevant learning and great expectations!"



Castle Rock Community Service required hours 2018-2019:

Freshmen: 2 hours
Sophomores: 4 hours
Juniors: 6 hours
Seniors: 8 hours
Graduation requirement: 20 hours

Students may accrue more hours than are mandated, but must still achieve their hours requirement per grade level. 
Ex: A Junior has volunteered and has 10 hours logged, they still will be required to earn 6 hours during the year)

OPPORTUNITIES 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR:

Longview Downtown Christmas/Parade- December 1st.  Meet at Cowlitz PUD at 4:30 until 8pm.  Contact Amanda Froberg afroberg@cowlitzpud.org

Jingle all the Way fun run-  December 7th.  Dress up as Christmas characters and cheer on runners around the Monticello Circle.  Time is 5pm-7pm.

Castle Rock Festival of Lights-  December 8th.  Many different opportunities and events, game booths, christmas characters, pass out candy during the CR parade, help with set up and take down... work groups start at 1pm and end at 6ish.... depending on what project your helping with.

CRFofL-  December 1st.  Participating in the Longview parade with a float to promote CR's festival of lights.  Report time to follow.

Kids Cave at Squatchfest- January 26th.  Making plaster feeet  or help with booths.  Contact Vashti Langford at vlangford.health@cowlitz.org.

CONTINUOUS VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES:

Longview Children's Museum- Continuous volunteer opportunity.  Open Wed-Fri-Sat various hours.  Help once a week or as your schedule allows.  To sign up or get more information feel free to stop in at the Kelso mall location or call Travis @ 360-261-4294

Hospital Volunteer- Continuous volunteer opportunity.  Contact Crystal Rhodes @ 360-414-7506.


EXPIRED OPPORTUNITIES:

Big Leaf Montessori Elem School-  October 27th.  Bingo night 4pm - 9pm.  In Longview.  For more information refer to Mr. Penner.

North County Annual Auction October 6th.  Opportunities to work Friday, Saturday or Sunday.  Friday help set up 5pm - 7pm, Saturday set up 2pm - 5pm, Sunday tear down 10am - 2pm.  Sign up outside Mrs. Moore's office.

Lil' Squatches Fun Run- September 22nd.  Two time slots available, 8am-12am or 12am-4pm, or stay all day!  Check in at the registration desk at North County sports complex.
