Class Info & Updates

Thank you to all my home room parents for taking the time to meet last week for conferences. We will have the opportunity to meet again in the spring, but can meet anytime you feel it is necessary. If you have any questions or concerns moving forward, please email, call, or stop by the school.  

Please be sure to sign up for a conference with your 1st period teacher on your Skyward page.  Parents and students both need to attend this informational get together.  Please bring any concerns and questions with you. Thank you!!!
Progress Reports will be going home Monday, 10/22, for my 1st period class.  Parents, please sign and return them with your student.  Thank you!!!

Week 1 is in the books!!!  Things are running smoothly and PE is in session.  If you are having any difficulties with your locker or the routines, let me know.

Welcome Back Everyone!!!
We are excited to get the new year started.  Can't wait to meet our incoming 6th graders and get them introduced to the routines we have for PE.  Remember to get your uniform from the office.  We will be requiring that you have these by Monday the 10th.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Bike Unit

This unit will include learning about safety equipment, signs, basic rules of the road, bike pre-check routine, etc. 

Students will be creating a bicycle safety poster, in groups, that demonstrates their understanding of a specific aspect of bike safety.  Look for these to be displayed in different areas around the school.

Health/P.E. Calendar


P.E./Gym Central

Students will be engaged in sport/skill specific lessons that will help develop their abilities in different sports and athletic activities.  Lessons will revolve around developing hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.  We will also spend a considerable amount of time in the field working on these skills as the weather allows. 

Topics Include:

  • Softball
  • Kickball
  • Soccer

Fitness Room

At least one day a week we will spend the period working out in the fitness room.  The students have specific workout routines that they will be tracking in their personalized fitness portfolio. Students will monitor their strength levels as they progress throughout the year.  We will be learning safe/proper lifting technique to prepare them for a more rigorous program at the high school.
