Dear Parents and Guardians,

Greetings to you all! As we prepare for another exciting academic year, I wanted to extend a heartfelt welcome back to all our wonderful students and families. We hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits.

We are thrilled to welcome your child back to Castle Rock Intermediate Building for the 2023-2024 school year. Our dedicated faculty and staff have been hard at work over the summer, preparing engaging lessons, fun activities, and a safe and welcoming learning environment for your children. We have been resting up as well, so that we can provide the energy and motivation to encourage the confidence to move forward with each individual student.

This year, we are committed to fostering a love for learning, encouraging creativity, and instilling a sense of curiosity in our students. Our goal is not only to provide a quality education but also to nurture well-rounded individuals who are confident, compassionate, and ready to face the challenges of the future.

In line with this, I just wanted to remind each of you of some of the priorities in our building.

  • CRRES- Our students will be Caring, Respectful, Responsible, Engaged, and Safe.
  • PBIS-Positive Behavior Intervention System
  • ELA Curriculum/Apps- Aimsweb, Lexia, ReadyGen, Sonday, Heggerty
  • Math Curriculum- iReady Math, Frax, Reflex
  • Science Curriculum-Mystery Science
  • Health-The Great Body Shop
  • AVID-Advance via Individual Determination: teaching our students to prepare for their future, with rigor and the confidence needed.
  • SEL (Social Emotional)- Harmony

Our teachers have prepared lessons that combine academic rigor with hands-on experiences, ensuring that your child’s learning journey is both enjoyable and meaningful.

Parent Involvement: We believe that parental involvement is crucial to a child’s success. Throughout the year, we will be communicating the events that are happening in the building, be available to answer questions and provide needed resources, as well as meet for conferences and other celebrations.

Attendance is crucial: We cannot fill the gaps, and broaden the learning experience if your child is not here. Please make your best effort in having your child at school each and every day on time. Class starts @ 8:00 a.m., so your child should arrive by this time. The school day ends at 2:45 p.m.

Safety Measures: The health and safety of our students remain our top priority. We will continue to follow all recommended health guidelines to ensure a safe learning environment for everyone. Including following the HIB and Title IX guidelines.
