Letter from the Principal
Greetings,
With a rich and diverse career spanning 27 years in the field of education, I am honored to share my journey with you. My name is Veronica Heller, and I have dedicated my life to shaping young minds and fostering an environment of growth, learning, and community within the realm of education.
My career began as a general education teacher, where I discovered my passion for instilling knowledge and nurturing curiosity in students. Through the years, I’ve worn various hats, including that of a special education teacher, which allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of individualized learning and the unique needs of every student.
Venturing into leadership roles, I embraced the position of Special Programs Director, a role that illuminated the importance of creating inclusive and supportive educational environments. As an Assistant Principal, I further honed my skills in guiding both students and educators toward their full potential.
My journey has led me to where I am today. Along this path, I’ve had the privilege of teaching in diverse settings, from the remote Alaskan village of Shishmaref to a small private school, and contributing my administrative experiences to two districts in Southwest Washington. This breadth of experience has enriched my perspective and reinforced my commitment to fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and community.
Having graduated from Castle Rock High School, I hold a deep-rooted pride in being a Rocket. This connection to my alma mater serves as a constant reminder of the transformative power of education and the impact it can have on shaping lives.
Working with students, their families, and our dedicated staff is not just a responsibility for me – it’s a calling. My passion lies in championing the best interests of our students, advocating for their growth, and facilitating an environment where they can thrive. Witnessing their progress and assisting them in reaching their highest potential brings me immeasurable joy.
